A téma rövid leírása, a kidolgozandó feladat részletezése: 

Nemzetközi szinten jelenleg komoly erőfeszítések történnek a területi párolgás műholdakkal történő becslésére. Az alkalmazott eljárások nagyon komoly mennyiségű adatfeldolgozást igényelnek, költségesek, és maximum pár évtizedre visszamenőleg alkalmazhatók. Ezzel szemben létezik egy olyan eljárás, amely a területi párolgás igen jó becslésére tűnik alkalmasnak standard meteorológiai mérések segítségével. Ezen eljárás előnye, hogy kis számítási igénnyel jár és akár egy évszázadra visszamenőleg is alkalmazható. Ezen tulajdonsága alkalmassá teheti a párolgás esetleges globális trendjének kimutatására a jelenleg lezajlódó klímaváltozás tükrében. Jelölt feladata, hogy egy globális adatbázist gyűjtsön össze a szükséges számítások elvégzéséhez, tesztelje a kapott területi párolgásbecslési eredményeket klasszikus vízmérlegek segítségével. Ahol mikrometeorológiai mérések is rendelkezésre állnak, ott összehasonlításokat végezzen ezen adatokkal is. Tegyen javaslatot a módszer tökéletesítésére, valamint dolgozzon ki egy mások által könnyen alkalmazható számítási algoritmust.
